This week nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve the murder of Jose Contreras in his apartment parking lot in south Nashville.

On Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at about twenty minutes after six in the evening, officers responded to the Hickory Hollow apartments to a shots fired call. When they arrived, witnesses flagged down the officers who found Jose lying on the ground next to his SUV. It appears that he was removing groceries from the front seat of his SUV when someone drove by and shot him to death.

South precinct detectives have no suspect or vehicle description to go on.

South precinct detectives are reaching out to the Hispanic community and are hoping someone who knows who committed this crime will call Crime Stoppers and share what they know. Spanish speaking operators are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you have information which might help Metro Police solve the murder of Jose Contreras in the parking lot of the Hickory Hollow Place apartments in south Nashville, call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. If the arrest results in the arrest and prosecution, you could be eligible for a cash reward of $1000.
