Crime of the Week

This week Nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash, for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve the murder of 26 year old Antoni Morton of east nashville.

On Saturday, May 3rd 2008 at approximately 5:00 in the afternoon, Antoni Morton stepped into the breezeway of the “y” building of the Berkshire Place Apartments at 1500 Porter road where he shared an apartment with his girlfriend.  A short time later his girlfriend heard a gunshot and opened the door.  She saw Antoni and another man fighting in the breezeway.  Antoni yelled out “call the police, they’re trying to rob me!”  She slammed the door and called 911.  Officers responded to the complex where they found Antoni bleeding from a gunshot wound.  An ambulance was called and Antoni was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died from the gunshot wound.

Witnesses saw the gunman run and jump into a small, black, 2 door car that was driven by a light skinned male black.  The car fled from the “y” building and out of the parking lot.

The gunman was described as being a male black about five feet six inches tall, around 150 pounds and about 20-25 years old.  He was injured in the fight with Antoni and had a large “goose egg” bump on his forehead.  He wore a red shirt and had braids in his hair that stopped at his neck.
