Crime of the Week, July 29, 2008

This week Nashville Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $1000 cash, for clues called in to 74-CRIME that help solve this robbery of the Dollar General Store on Gallatin Road in east Nashville.

On Wednesday, May 22nd, 2008, at approximately 7:40 in the evening, an employee went to the office of the Dollar General Store at 3006 Gallatin Road where the manager and security guard were preparing a deposit.  She was followed by a man who waited until she left the office.  He slipped into the office and held a gun to the security guards head as he ordered the manager to give him the money.  After getting the cash, he went through the store and out the door into the darkness.  This store is located at the busy intersection of Trinity Lane and Gallatin Pike.

The gunman was described as a male black in his mid 20’s and is approximately six feet tall and around 170 pounds.  At the time of the robbery he was wearing a blue and white shirt with blue jeans and sunglasses. East precinct detectives hope that someone saw the man leave or they recognize him from the surveillance photos.
