FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 22, 2007

SWAT members assigned to the police department's Special Response Team (SRT) and members of the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force today captured two Nashville ex-convicts for their suspected roles in a series of area bank robberies, the latest of which occurred at 10:30 this morning at Bank of America's 7043 Highway 70 South branch in Bellevue.

Larry Roscoe McGlocklin, 56, of Marshall Street, was driving his mini-van near Centennial Park at 11:25 a.m. when he was stopped by SWAT members at 25th Avenue North and Brandau Place. Investigators recovered a large portion of the money stolen in today’s bank robbery hidden in a false compartment inside the mini-van.

McGlockin is expected to be charged federally with today's robbery, as well as with an attempted bank robbery in Inglewood and a bank robbery in Hendersonville, both January 11, and with a bank robbery in Bellevue on January 16.

This afternoon, McGlockin's suspected accomplice in three of the cases, Alberto Ganac, 49, was arrested by SRT officers at the corner of Welshwood Drive and Nolensville Pike. Ganac, of Douglas Avenue, is expected to be charged federally with the January 11 and January 16 cases.

Both McGlocklin and Ganac were released from prison in July of 2006 after serving time for robbery.
