FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 2, 2007

Detectives late Thursday night arrested the three persons suspected of committing more than 20 recent burglaries of Asian restaurants, during which rocks were thrown threw the windows of the businesses and the cash registers taken.

Eric Richard Simon, 43, Teresa Hays, 35, and Bruce Jackson, 40, were taken into custody at a motel off Elm Hill Pike.

As officers moved in on Simon and Hays early last Saturday during a burglary in progress at the Bamboo Garden restaurant on Lebanon Pike, Hays rammed an undercover police car with a pickup truck and the two managed to get away. Detectives had been looking for them all week.

Simon is being held without bond on charges of burglary and parole violation. Hays is being held in lieu of $107,000 bond on charges of burglary, aggravated assault, evading arrest, and driving without a license. Jackson is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond on charges of burglary, evading arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are expected to be placed against them in the near future.
