Last weekend’s Operation Safer Streets gang enforcement initiative, which took place Friday night, resulted in 32 arrests involving seven felonies and 34 misdemeanor charges. Five outstanding warrants were served. Seizures included 128 grams of marijuana, 95.4 grams of cocaine, one vehicle, and $282.00 cash.

At least once a week, officers and supervisors representing each of the six precincts and the Specialized Investigations Division (SID) partner together to implement strategies to combat gang crimes and activities in various areas of Nashville.

Friday night’s enforcement consisted of 20 SID detectives and seven patrol officers. Areas targeted were Nolensville Road and Harding Place, Tampa Drive and Harding Place, Metroplex Drive and Harding Place, Haywood Lane and Apache Trail, Buchanan Street, the J.C. Napier public housing development, University Court, Trimble Bottoms, and Murfreesboro Road and Thompson Lane.

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Operation Safer Streets gang enforcement initiative has now netted 766 arrests involving 837 misdemeanor charges, 164 felony charges, and 203 outstanding warrants.
