Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 60 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

East Precinct detectives charged 12 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street at Evanston Avenue, Grace Street at North 2nd Street, Lischey Avenue at Grace Street, South 6th Street at Shelby Avenue, and Meridian Street at Gatewood Avenue. Seized were 69 grams of cocaine, 325 grams of marijuana, 350 various pills, two guns, three vehicles, and $8,431.00 cash.

South Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Wallace Road, Veritas Street, Old Hickory Boulevard, and Welshwood Drive. Seized were 85.2 grams of cocaine, 18 grams of marijuana, and one weapon.

West Precinct detectives charged seven persons as the result of investigations in the 1000 block of Drummond Drive, the 1400 block of 10th Avenue North, the 3800 block of Elkins Avenue, and the 3900 block of Alabama Avenue. Seized were 12 pounds of cocaine, 16 grams of marijuana, five Ecstasy pills, two weapons, including an AK-47, one vehicle, and $100,782.00 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged ten persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Denver Drive, and Lebanon Pike. Seized were 20 grams of marijuana and 25 various pills.

North Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Forest Park Road, Berkley Drive, Cocoa Drive, Saunders Avenue, Woodale Lane, Underwood Road, and 7th Avenue North. Seized were 17.4 grams of cocaine, 15.3 ounces of marijuana, three guns, one vehicle, and $980.00 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged three persons, including a convicted murderer who was out of prison on parole, during investigations in the Jones Avenue area. Seized were 837 grams of cocaine, one gun, and $1,500.00 cash.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
