Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the three men who committed a home invasion robbery in the 200 block of McGavock Pike in Donelson late Sunday night.
The nine victims inside the home, who ranged in age from 16 to 37, were all of Hispanic descent. The only female present, who was several months pregnant, was sexually assaulted by one of the suspects.
A few of the victims were bringing groceries inside the home shortly after 9 p.m. when the three suspects, all of whom were armed, forced their way inside. The suspects spoke in both Spanish and English phrases as they demanded money. All of the victims were forced into a rear bedroom of the home. One of the suspects then took the woman to another room, where the sexual assault took place.
Police officers were notified of the robbery by a neighbor who saw suspicious activity at the home. The suspects fled through a rear door moments before officers could get into place. A police dog tracked their scent to a nearby parking lot.
The suspects are described as white. Their ethnicity is not known. All wore masks.
This case fits a pattern of about ten home invasion robberies that have occurred over the past several weeks in the South and Hermitage precincts. The victims have all been of Hispanic descent.
Anyone with information on the suspects is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
