
Undercover detectives assigned to five of the department’s six precincts this week charged 83 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
East Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street, the James Casey public housing development, the 100 block of Lucille Street, Dickerson Pike and Lucille Street, the 800 block of Dickerson Pike, the 1400 block of Dickerson Pike, South 6th Street and Shelby Avenue, Lischey Avenue and Grace Street, and the Litton Park Apartments on Litton Avenue. Seized were ten grams of cocaine, 6.5 grams of marijuana, 90 assorted pills, and $685.00 cash.
South Precinct detectives charged 11 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Wallace Road, and Claiborne Street. Seized were 57.35 grams of cocaine, two pounds of marijuana, two weapons, and $8,160.00.00 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations at 16th Avenue North and Jo Johnston Avenue, 28th Avenue North and Clifton Avenue, 17th Avenue North and Patterson Street, 32nd Avenue North and Clifton Avenue. Seized were three grams of cocaine, 40 grams of marijuana, two weapons, one vehicle and $130.00 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Donelson Pike, Claiborne Street, and Lafayette Street. Seized were three grams of crack, five grams of marijuana, and 40 various pills.
North Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations on Mohawk Trail, Metrocenter Boulevard, Brick Church Pike, Liberia Street, Woodruff Avenue, Bellshire Drive, Westchester Drive, and Richmond Hill Drive. Seized were 36.4 ounces of cocaine, 22 pounds of marijuana, 57 various pills, one vehicle, and $6,625.00 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
