
A 15-year-old is in custody after an attempted carjacking today at a South Nashville apartment complex.
The teenager was charged in juvenile court with robbery in the 11:40 a.m. attempted carjacking of a 27-year-old woman outside the Preakness Apartments at 630 Bell Road.
The woman was punched several times in the face but refused to get out of her car. The suspect grabbed her electronic car key and ran away.
South Precinct patrol officers and the Aviation Unit responded to the area and searched for the suspect until a witness notified them that the teen was walking on Bell Road. He was taken into custody at 12:50 p.m.
The suspect was positively identified by the victim and the witness.
