Charges are being contemplated in a single-vehicle accident Thursday night that claimed the life of an Indiana man.
Donnie Joe Shelton, 31, of Harpeth Springs Drive, lost control of his Honda sedan in a curve in the 8100 block of Highway 70 South at 10:30 p.m. The Honda became airborne and struck a utility pole on the passenger side before landing on its roof.
The passenger in the car, Cody Brahm, 25, of Santa Claus, Indiana, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Thursday was Brahm’s birthday.
Shelton was treated at Vanderbilt and released this morning.
Investigators suspect alcohol and speed were contributing factors to this fatal crash.
