FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 8, 2007

South Precinct detectives have identified Antoine Isaiah Kirby as the man responsible for the April 6 murder of Jonathan Overstreet on Weaver Drive at School Lane and are asking for the community’s assistance in locating him.

Kirby, 25, who is last known to have lived in Goodlettsville, is named in arrest warrants charging criminal homicide and especially aggravated robbery. Efforts to locate him last night and today have been unsuccessful.

Overstreet, 21, of Cane Ridge Road, was shot during a robbery after he, his girlfriend and his brother Cody arrived at the intersection to make a prearranged cocaine buy. While Kirby is charged with fatally wounding Jonathan Overstreet, a co-defendant, Brandon Helms, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated robbery for shooting Cody Overstreet in the shoulder. Helms was arrested on April 10.
