Central Precinct detectives have charged a 16-year-old with four counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and unlawful gun possession in connection with the April 29 wounding of four persons near the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Church Street.

Detectives believe the suspect and the three 16-year-olds who were wounded came downtown to be involved with Club Mystic’s teen night. A 37-year-old woman who was walking on 2nd Avenue near Club Mystic was also wounded.

The 16-year-old is believed to have seen a person or persons on 2nd Avenue with whom he had fought with previously and opened fire.

The 16-year-old is also charged with probation violation and is being held in juvenile detention.
