Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 87 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 25 persons as the result of investigations on Carter Avenue, Thomas Street, Smith Springs Road, and Wedgewood Avenue. Seized were 39.35 grams of cocaine, three pounds of marijuana, 199 various pills, three weapons, and $1,890 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 16 persons as the result of investigations on Jefferson Street, Davidson Drive at Charlotte Pike, 14th Avenue North at Church Street, Charlotte Avenue at McMillan Street, and 27th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue. Seized were 59 grams of cocaine, 300 Lortab pills, 142 Valium pills, six Xanax pills, and three Oxycodone pills.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Fesslers Lane, Millwood Drive, Hillside Drive, Thompson Place, 5th Avenue South, 4th Avenue South, Elm Hill Pike, and Lewis Street. Seized were 15 grams of cocaine, 102 grams of marijuana, 16 various pills, two weapons, one vehicle, and
$1, 623 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations on Westchester Drive, Brick Church Pike, Trinity Lane, Gallatin Pike, McKinley Street, Archwood Place, Emmett Avenue, and Clarksville Pike. Seized were 2.7 ounces of cocaine, 1.3 pounds of marijuana, 13 various pills, one weapon, two vehicles, and $1,053 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 12 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street, Shelby Avenue at South 6th Street, Dickerson Pike at Broadmoor Drive, and Ben Allen Road. Seized were 121.5 grams of marijuana, 92 marijuana plants, .4 grams of cocaine, 20 Ecstasy pills, one Dilaudid pill, one vehicle, and $471 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged four persons as the result of investigations on
3rd Avenue South at Elm Street, and 11th Avenue North. Seized were 15.5 grams of cocaine, 2.5 grams of marijuana, two grams of heroin, three Ecstasy pills, and $573 cash.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
