Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 96 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lester Avenue, Wallace Road, Fain Street, and Harding Place. Seized were 24 grams of cocaine, 282.35 grams of marijuana, five pills, and $3,416 cash.

West Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on Jefferson Street, Charlotte Pike, Edgehill Avenue, Vernon Avenue, and 25th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue. Seized were 62.2 grams of cocaine, 35 grams of marijuana, 4,000 Ecstasy pills, ten Xanax pills, 25 milliliters of Methadone, 25 milliliters of liquid Morphine, five weapons, and $1,163 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Millwood Drive, Lebanon Pike, 5th Avenue South, Plus Park Boulevard, and Nance Lane. Seized were four grams of cocaine.

North Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on Clarksville Pike, Whites Creek Pike, Brick Church Pike, Indiana Avenue, 45th and 46th Avenues North, Kings Lane, Boyd Drive, Tucker Road, and Youngs Lane. Seized were 2.5 ounces of cocaine, 46.3 grams of marijuana, three various pills, one weapon, two vehicles, and $2,944 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations on North 9th Street at Main Street, Queen Avenue, West Trinity Lane, Sylvan Street between South 5th and South 6th Streets, Gallatin Pike, Sharpe Avenue, North 2nd Street, and McFerrin Avenue. Seized were 4.1 grams of cocaine, 1.03 pounds of marijuana, 19 Dilaudid pills, 39 Morphine pills, one vehicle, and $345 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged six persons as the result of their investigations on Lafayette Street. Seized were 18 grams of cocaine.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
