Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 94 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
East Precinct detectives charged 11 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street, North 1st Street & Hancock Street, Dickerson Pike & Gatewood Avenue, East Trinity Lane & Meridian Street, the 300 block of West Trinity Lane, Gallatin Pike & Cahal Avenue, Gallatin Avenue & Seymour Avenue, and the 3600 block of Baxter Avenue. Seized were one gram of cocaine, 2.5 grams of marijuana, seven Dilaudid pills, 508 Morphine pills, 20 various pills, one vehicle, two guns, and $672 cash.
South Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Tampa Drive, Humber Drive, Wallace Road, Harding Place, and Oceanfront Circle South. Seized were 82 grams of cocaine, 117 grams of marijuana, 50 Ecstasy pills, two Soma pills, six Tramadol pills, one vehicle, two weapons, including an AK-47, and $785 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations in the 600 block of 21st Avenue North, the 100 block of White Bridge Pike, the 500 block of Doral Country Drive, the 5400 block of California Avenue, and the 1800 block of Jefferson Street. Seized were 1 kilogram of cocaine, six pounds of marijuana, 22.5 pounds of Khat, 18 Klonopin pills, 7,496 hydrocodone pills, and 13 Morphine pills.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Millwood Drive, Charles E. Davis Boulevard, Old Hickory Boulevard, Nolensville Pike, and Donelson Pike. Seized were 114 grams of cocaine, 11 ounces of marijuana,more than 100 Ecstasy pills, four grams of mushrooms, five guns, and $85 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 29 persons as the result of investigations on East Old Hickory Boulevard, Dickerson Pike, Clarksville Pike, 40th Avenue North, Delaware Avenue, East Webster Street, and Gallatin Road. Seized were 6.1 ounces of cocaine, five grams of marijuana, 12 hydrocodone pills, three weapons, two vehicles, and $2,104 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged seven persons as the result of investigations on North1stStreet and Oldham Street. Seized were eight grams of cocaine and 2.5 grams of marijuana.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
