The 16-year-old who appears to have drowned Sunday evening in Percy Priest Lake near the Hamilton Creek boat ramp is identified as Fabian Martinez of Dickinson, Texas.
The victim and his 14-year-old brother were in Nashville visiting their aunt. The brothers and several family members had gone to the lake. Fabian, who was last seen walking in the water near the shoreline, could not be found when it was time to leave. A search was begun and the 14-year-old found Fabian unconscious in the lake about 20 feet from shore. Medics rushed him to Summit Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The family said Fabian was not a good swimmer.
