Outstanding work by West Precinct detectives and Flex Unit officers led to the arrest of a man Tuesday morning who was attempting to sell stolen high-powered rifles on the streets of Nashville.
Detectives received an anonymous tip that three men in a maroon Chevrolet Impala were trying to sell guns out of their car on Charlotte Pike. Flex officers blanketed the area and stopped the driver of the suspect Impala at 6700 Cabot Drive at 9:30 a.m.
Travis Washington Isaacs, 18, of South Trace Boulevard, admitted to officers he had weapons in the trunk.
Three high-powered rifles were seized. Detective Mike Moss determined the rifles were stolen in Georgia yesterday from a licensed gun dealer who had them in his SUV.
Isaacs said he had just arrived back in Nashville from Georgia this morning. He is charged with theft and is being held in lieu of $50,000 dollars bond. He could face additional charges in Georgia.
