Undercover detectives assigned to the department’s six precincts this week charged 96 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 12 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Harding Place, Welch Road, and Tampa Drive. Seized were 1.5 ounces of cocaine, one pound of marijuana, 363 pills, and five weapons.

West Precinct detectives charged 29 persons as the result of investigations on 16th Avenue North at Jo Johnston Avenue, 12th Avenue South at Horton Avenue, the 3700 block of Charlotte Pike, Robertson Avenue at Croley Drive, and 15th Avenue North at Hynes Street. Seized were 128.5 grams of cocaine, one ounce of marijuana, 148 Lortab pills, and 68 methadone pills.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 12 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Spence Lane, Fesslers Lane, Claiborne Street, and Lafayette Street. Seized were 116 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of marijuana, 120 various pills, and $452 cash.

North Precinct detectives charged 26 persons as the result of investigations on Dickerson Pike, Kings Lane, Old Hickory Boulevard, Westchester Drive, Village Trail, Brick Church Pike, Whites Creek Pike, and Blackstone Drive. Seized were three ounces of cocaine, two pounds of marijuana, one weapon, one vehicle, and $6,627 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged 11 persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street, the 2400 block of Paulawood Drive, the 4100 block of Gallatin Pike, Gallatin Pike at Litton, Chester, and Eastland Avenues, and the 900 block of North 5th Street. Seized were 31 grams of cocaine, nearly eight pounds of marijuana, one Ecstasy pill, two weapons, one vehicle, and $1,075 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged six persons as the result of investigations on North 1st Street at Spring Street, 6th Avenue South near Lafayette Street, and 7th Avenue South near Drexel Street. Seized were 2.5 grams of cocaine and one vehicle.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
