East Precinct detectives are asking for the community's assistance in locating a 67-year-old woman who suffers from an emotional/mental disorder and who apparently walked away from her Eastland Avenue group home over the weekend.
Cassanova E. Short was last seen by staff at the group home Saturday night. When she did not come out of her room for breakfast Sunday, it was discovered that she was not on the property. Staff and family members say Short rarely left the premises and are concerned that she has not been seen nor heard from since Saturday night. Detectives have not found any evidence of foul play thus far.
Short is black, 5'2" tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. Anyone seeing Cassanova Short or knowing her whereabouts is urged to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600.
