
Undercover detectives assigned to five of the department’s six precincts this week charged 81 persons with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Thompson Lane, Lewis Street, and Trimble Street. Seized were 22.2 grams of cocaine, 32 grams of marijuana, one vehicle, and $787 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 29 persons as the result of investigations on 37th Avenue North at Park Avenue, 17th Avenue North at Patterson Street, 12th Avenue North at Jefferson Street, the 1200 block of Wedgewood Avenue, Kirkwood Avenue at Vaulx Lane, and 11th Avenue South at Horton Avenue. Seized were 31.9 grams of cocaine, 184 Ecstasy pills, one weapon, and two vehicles.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged eight persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Old Hermitage Avenue, Elm Hill Pike, and Carroll Street. Seized were three grams of cocaine.
North Precinct detectives charged eleven persons as the result of investigations on Clarksville Pike, West Hamilton Road, Drakes Branch Road, Oakdell Avenue, Gordon Terrace, and Neelys Bend Road. Seized were 13.3 grams of cocaine, 160 grams of marijuana, 7.6 grams of methamphetamine, 69 various pills, one weapon, one vehicle, and $630 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on South 14th Street, Brick Church Pike, Dickerson Pike, Trinity Lane, the 1000 block of Seymour Avenue, the 600 block of Sylvan Street, South 5th Street at Fatherland Street, Broadmoor Drive, and Ewing Drive. Seized were 1.7 grams of cocaine and 9 grams of marijuana.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department's 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
