September 27, 2007

Metro Police & the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force are working to identify the man who this afternoon robbed the Wilson Bank & Trust branch at 4736 Andrew Jackson Parkway.

The suspect entered the bank at 1:30 p.m. wearing a Halloween mask and armed with a semi-automatic pistol. He threw down a canvas bag and ordered three tellers to put money in it. The tellers complied and the suspect fled. A police dog tracked the robber’s scent to the parking lot of a nearby Wal-Mart, where his getaway car may have been waiting.

The robber is described as a black man in his 30’s. He is six feet tall, weighs approximately 225 pounds, and entered the bank wearing a straw hat, a blue denim shirt, and black gloves.

Anyone seeing the robber or having information about him is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
