Sex Crimes detectives have identified the man believed responsible for the September 18th rape of a woman in Bicentennial Mall.
Ricky Lee Morgan, 49, who is thought to be homeless, is named in an arrest warrant issued tonight charging aggravated rape. Morgan has been known to frequent the Farmer’s Market area of downtown and North Nashville. Officers in those areas are on the lookout for him.
The 22-year-old victim was attacked at 2:30 a.m. on September 18th as she walked home from a downtown club. She was thrown to the ground in the amphitheater area of Bicentennial Mall and raped at knifepoint. She resisted, but the suspect repeatedly punched and kicked her head and body.
A composite sketch, which the victim helped develop, aided Detective Jason Terry in identifying Morgan as a potential suspect. The victim picked Morgan from a photo lineup as the man who raped her.
Anyone seeing Ricky Lee Morgan or knowing his whereabouts is urged to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
