The owner of Spudz restaurant was found shot late this afternoon in an alley behind his business at 5908 B Charlotte Pike.
A customer found Eric Lamont Brown, 36, just after 4 p.m. lying in the alley with a single gunshot wound to his upper body. Brown was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Brown may have been shot during a robbery, but other motives have not been ruled out. Detectives are pursuing leads based in part on surveillance video. Anyone with information about Brown’s murder is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
