
Metro Police and the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man believed responsible for robbing the SunTrust Bank Branch located inside the Belle Meade Kroger at 4560 Harding Pike Monday afternoon.
The suspect approached the teller at 4:10 p.m., passed a robbery demand note, and implied that he had a weapon.
The suspect is described as a white man with blonde hair in his early 40s. He is approximately 6’1” tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He entered the bank this afternoon wearing a dark sport coat, button down blue shirt, and blue jeans. He was wearing a watch on his left wrist and has tattoos on his left hand. The suspect fled in a white or cream colored Mercury sedan bearing an out of state license plate.
Anyone seeing the robber, including witnesses who contacted Kroger management concerning the suspect’s behavior prior to the robbery, are urged to contact the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force at 232-7500 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
