
Alert police work by South Precinct officers led to the arrest of Na Jarred Walker, 25, of Welch Road, who is charged with robbing a woman and attempting to rob a business Monday evening.
Walker entered the Taco Bell at 4000 Nolensville Pike at 5:50 p.m. and demanded money from the cashier. When she refused, he hit her, and fled the restaurant without any cash.
A few minutes later, Walker approached a woman in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4040 Nolensville Pike. He demanded her purse. When she refused, he knocked her to the ground and struck her repeatedly in the face. Walker fled on foot with the purse.
Officers Tommy Cole and Brent Bauer captured Walker a short time later hiding in a nearby creek. He was positively identified by both victims.
Walker is charged with aggravated assault, attempted robbery, and aggravated robbery. He is being held in lieu of $120,000 bond. He has been arrested six times since October of last year with convictions for disorderly conduct and drug possession.
