Metro officers assigned to the MDHA Task Force hit the jackpot during an investigation of a drug complaint at 516-A South 11th Street Wednesday evening.
The leaseholder agreed to let officers search the residence after being told they were there to investigate potential drug activity. Found during the search were 2.1 grams of crack cocaine, 8.6 grams of powder cocaine, 4.2 grams of marijuana, two sets of scales, a stolen .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, a nine millimeter semi-automatic pistol, and $1,050 cash.
David V. Crutcher, 25, of Ordway Place, who was in his girlfriend’s apartment playing video games when police arrived, claimed all of the drugs and the scales.
Because the apartment is within 1,000 feet of Kirkpatrick Elementary School, Crutcher is charged with possession of cocaine in a drug free zone (a Class A felony) and possession of marijuana in a drug free zone (a class D felony). He is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of the .45 caliber pistol, which was stolen in Cheatham County.
All the guns were seized. Ownership of the other two is unclear at present.
Crutcher, who has misdemeanor drug convictions in 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2007, is being held in lieu of $52,000 bond.
