A tip from a student led to this morning’s recovery of a .25-caliber pistol from Hunters Lane High School and the arrest of a 17-year-old 10th grader.

After learning of the tip from the principal, officers assigned to Hunters Lane found the unloaded gun inside the student’s jacket in a classroom security cabinet. The 17-year-old denied the gun was his. He is being charged at Juvenile Court with carrying a gun on school property.
