The man found fatally wounded Saturday evening on Mt. View Road near Mt. View Circle is identified as Lewis D. Finney, 21, of Carnicelli Court in Smyrna.
Finney was discovered lying in the roadway by a passerby at 5 p.m. Saturday. It was initially thought that he was the victim of a hit & run collision. Finney was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. It was discovered at the hospital that Finney had suffered a gunshot wound to his neck.
The investigation thus far by Detectives Brad Corcoran and David Achord shows that Finney was dumped from a car on Mt. View Road. They are continuing in their efforts to locate and interview the persons Finney was with late Saturday afternoon.
