FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 12, 2007

West Precinct detectives this afternoon arrested the third and final suspect wanted in connection with robberies November 25 in the parking lot of Calhoun’s restaurant on White Bridge Road and a parking garage near Whole Foods in the Hill Center off Hillsboro Pike in Green Hills.

James Alfred Reed, 22, is jailed in lieu of $60,000 bond on charges of robbery and aggravated robbery.

The investigation by Detective Brad Putnam shows that Reed and co-defendants Bertina Baker, 24, and Sharandon Patterson, 21, drove up on the victims in Baker’s Pontiac Grand Am. In the Calhoun’s robbery, a 62-year-old woman was helping her 83-year-old mother into a car when a man now identified as Reed demanded her purse. She complied. In the parking garage robbery, a man identified as Reed demanded a 36-year-old woman’s purse. When she refused, he slapped her and took the purse.

Baker was arrested on December 7. Patterson surrendered on December 8.

The three will also be charged by Hermitage Precinct detectives with attempting to rob a 33-year-old woman of her purse in the Lebanon Pike Wal-Mart parking lot on November 25.
