
Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 113 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Aaronwood Drive, Valley Green Drive, and Spence Lane. Seized were 79 grams of cocaine, 2.5 pounds of marijuana, 1.5 ounces of mushrooms, three weapons, one vehicle, and $1,995 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 12 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lewis Street, Charles E. Davis Boulevard, Claiborne Street, and Lebanon Pike. Seized were ten grams of cocaine, two grams of marijuana, and one weapon.
West Precinct detectives charged 22 persons as the result of investigations on Dahlia Circle, West End Avenue at Elmington Avenue, 14th Avenue at Charlotte Avenue, and 24th Avenue North at Elliston Place. Seized were 127.8 grams of cocaine, 35 pounds of marijuana, five weapons, two vehicles, and $7,289 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 31 persons as the result of investigations on Cephas Street, Underwood Street, Buchanan Street, 15th, 16th, 25th, 28th, and 40th Avenues North, Heiman Street, Haynes Park Drive, Ewing Lane, Sarver Avenue, and Gallatin Pike. Seized were 21.8 grams of cocaine, 68.4 grams of marijuana, 504 various pills, six weapons, one vehicle, and $5,492 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 15 persons as the result of investigations on Mitchell Road, the 1100 block of Kirkland Avenue, the 800 block of North 2nd Street, the Metro Center area, and Dickerson Pike. Seized were .5 grams of cocaine, .1 grams of heroin, 2.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 18 Dilaudid pills, four Xanax pills, one Methadone pill, and $477 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street, Gleaves Street at Overton Street, Ewing Avenue, Mulberry Street, and 7th Avenue South at Middleton Street. Seized were seven grams of cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
