East Precinct detectives have made an arrest in this afternoon’s murder of Delltermaine Faust, who was shot to death at 12:10 p.m. at the side of 709 Joseph Avenue.
Faust, 20, who was last known to have lived on W. Eastland Avenue, was fatally wounded moments after he knocked on the door of Rodney Howard at 717 Joseph Avenue. Witness information leads detectives to believe that Howard, 21, came out of the house and chased Faust a short distance before shooting him. Howard was arrested at the rear of his residence and will be charged with criminal homicide later tonight. The motive for the murder remains under investigation.
Faust was on probation for a 2007 conviction for facilitation of aggravated robbery. Howard was charged with aggravated assault in 2006. That charge was retired last year.
