The man found fatally wounded at 11:20 p.m. Sunday on the side of Rice Road near Rural Hill Road is identified as Brandon Harris, 34, of W. Northfield Boulevard in Murfreesboro.
Harris was discovered by a passing motorist and was likely shot at approximately 10:45 p.m. He died at the scene.
South Precinct detectives are investigating a report that Harris came to Nashville from Murfreesboro Sunday night to commit a robbery. They are also investigating whether gang activity was involved.
