
Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 109 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Harding Place, Xavier Drive, and Garden Street. Seized were 15.7 grams of cocaine, 50 grams of marijuana, three weapons, and $7,502 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 25 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lewis Street, Donelson Pike, Robertson Avenue, Lebanon Pike, 5th Avenue South, 6th Avenue South, and University Court. Seized were one gram of cocaine, five grams of marijuana, 24 pills, and $1,753 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 24 persons as the result of investigations on 11th Avenue South at Horton Avenue, 28th Avenue North at Charlotte Avenue, the 1800 block of Westchester Drive, 8th Avenue South at Wedgewood Avenue, 26th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue, 25th Avenue North at Merry Street, and Charlotte Park. Seized were 20 pounds of marijuana, 5.5 ounces of cocaine, 51 Ecstasy pills, two weapons, three vehicles, and $27,565 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on Batavia Street, Trinity Lane, Dr. D.B. Todd Boulevard, Jefferson Street, 12th Avenue North, Woodruff Street, Buchanan Street, Heiman Street, and Gallatin Pike. Seized were 17.6 grams of cocaine, 120 grams of marijuana, three weapons, and $301 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on North 7th Street at Ramsey Street, South 10th Street at Shelby Avenue, Trinity Lane, Brick Church Pike, Dickerson Pike at Hancock and Lucille Streets, Garden Street, Jefferson Street at 26th Avenue North, and Old Hickory Boulevard at Gallatin Pike. Seized were 16.6 grams of cocaine and one gram of marijuana.
Central Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street, 6th Avenue South at Lafayette Street, and 9th Avenue South at Gleaves Street. Seized were ten grams of cocaine and 30 grams of marijuana.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
