Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 76 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Wilhagan Road, Lafayette Street, and Harding Place. Seized were six grams of cocaine, five grams of marijuana, one vehicle, and $1,070 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged eleven persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Lewis Street, Bonnabrook Drive, Ewing Lane, Oakview Drive, Rayon Drive, 5th Avenue South, and 6th Avenue South. Seized were 77 grams of marijuana, 118 pills, and $11,500 cash.

West Precinct detectives charged 23 persons as the result of investigations on Charlotte Avenue at 11th, 40th, and 28th Avenues North, the 2300 block of Merry Street, and the 5600 block of Obrien Avenue. Seized were four pounds of marijuana, six ounces of cocaine, one Ecstasy pill, 197 various pills, one vehicle, and $816 cash.

North Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on West Trinity Lane, Eastland Avenue, 12th Avenue North, and Buena Vista Pike. Seized were 51.4 grams of cocaine, 7.6 grams of marijuana, five weapons, and $3,935 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged eleven persons as the result of investigations on North 2nd Street, Grace Street, Oldham Street, Marie Street, and Stainback Avenue. Seized were 89.6 grams of cocaine, 60.8 grams of marijuana, one weapon, one vehicle, and $550 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged five persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street, 8th Avenue South at Lafayette Street, and Stewarts Ferry Pike at I-40. Seized were 2,120 anabolic steroid pills, one vehicle, and $3,090 cash.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
