The man killed in a three-vehicle collision on I-40 last night is identified as Barry Abraham, 64, of Hickory Hollow Road.
A preliminary investigation shows Abraham was driving his Ford Explorer on I-40 near Rodney Drive when the driver of a westbound Toyota minivan lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway. Abraham’s SUV struck the passenger side of the minivan at 10:30 p.m.
Abraham had gotten out of his Explorer when it was struck from behind by the driver of a Dodge pickup. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died. The driver of the truck, Dean Marlow, 45, of Murfreesboro, and the driver of the minivan, Mary DePrez, 52, of Primm Springs, Tennessee, were both transported to St. Thomas Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation continues.
