In anticipation of winter precipitation tonight and tomorrow, Metro police officers, effective immediately, will have wreckers tow any vehicles that have been abandoned on the shoulders of Nashville’s interstate system and major thoroughfares. Those vehicles would create a tremendous hazard to the motoring public and to emergency responders should snowy/icy conditions occur.
These vehicles will be towed to area wrecker services. The Emergency Communications Center (862-8600) will be given a detailed description of a towed vehicle and the wrecker service involved so that citizens will be able to locate their automobiles.
