North Precinct detectives this afternoon charged Ezra Shelton, 20, of Fawnwood Place, and James Evans, 19, of Lyndale Drive, with criminal homicide for the January 6 shooting death of Mario Mayes, 19, during a party at 3117 Wilmoth Road.
Mayes, who had argued with several men earlier in the evening, was standing outside when the suspects drove by and opened fire at 1 a.m. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
