Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 163 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 41 persons as the result of investigations on Thompson Lane, Fesslers Lane, Murfreesboro Pike, and Plus Park Boulevard. Seized were 24 grams of cocaine, three ounces of marijuana, two ounces of mushrooms, and $326 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 18 persons as the result of investigations on Stewarts Ferry Pike, Lebanon Pike, Country Hill Road, Country Meadow Road, and Lewis Street. Seized were 508 grams of cocaine, seven grams of marijuana, seven various pills, and one weapon.

West Precinct detectives charged 38 persons as the result of investigations at 37th Avenue North at Charlotte Pike, 12th Avenue South at Wade Avenue, 14th Avenue North at Hynes Street, and 14th Avenue South at Horton Avenue. Seized were 425 grams of marijuana and 52 grams of cocaine.

North Precinct detectives charged 33 persons as the result of investigations on Cheyenne Boulevard, Delaware Avenue, Rio Vista Drive, Cephas Street, 40th Avenue North, Whites Creek Pike, Phipps Drive, Dove Place, and Buena Vista Pike. Seized were 4.6 ounces of cocaine, 34 grams of marijuana, two vehicles, five weapons, and $3,479 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged 16 persons as the result of investigations on Winthorne Drive at Glengarry Drive, Dickerson Pike at Broadmoor Drive, the 300 block of Trinity Lane, Gallatin Pike, South 6th Street at Shelby Avenue, and North 1st Street at Oldham Street. Seized were 37 grams of cocaine, 8.6 grams of marijuana, eight grams of heroin, four vehicles, and $10,462 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on 6th Avenue South at Lafayette Street, North 1st Street at Oldham Street, 11th Avenue North, and Jefferson Street. Seized were 73 grams of marijuana and 14 grams of cocaine. The Central Precinct’s continuing steroid investigation has, since last month, resulted in the seizure of more than 317,000 dosage units of anabolic steroids worth more than $3 million dollars.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
