
Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 103 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Harding Place, Dove Trail, Welworth Street, and Bell Road. Seized were 31 grams of cocaine, 157 grams of marijuana, eight Ecstasy pills, two vehicles, and $3,700 cash.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged ten persons as the result of investigations on Stewarts Ferry Pike, University Street, Creekside Drive, Waikiki Boulevard, and Lewis Street. Seized were 274 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of marijuana, two vehicles, and $8,077 cash.
West Precinct detectives charged 27 persons as the result of investigations on the 6500 block of Premier Drive, 37th Avenue North at Charlotte Pike, Annex Drive, 27th Avenue North at Clifton Avenue, and 14th Avenue South at Horton Avenue. Seized were 12 pounds of marijuana, 202 Ecstasy tablets, 216 Xanax pills, 89 grams of cocaine, three vehicles, one weapon, and $3,383 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on North Dupont Avenue, Gallatin Pike, Avondale Circle, Ewing Lane, Trinity Lane, Clarksville Pike, and Wiley Street. Seized were 7.5 grams of cocaine, seven grams of marijuana, and one weapon.
East Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Hart Lane at Ellington Parkway, the 1400 block of Gartland Avenue, Trinity Lane at Brick Church Pike and Lischey Avenue, North 1st Street at Oldham Street, Clarksville Pike at South Hamilton Road, and Dickerson Pike at Dellway and Ewing Drives. Seized were 4.1 grams of cocaine, 8.9 grams of marijuana, 4.1 grams of heroin, one vehicle, 88 Oxycontin pills, and $2,617 cash.
Central Precinct detectives charged nine persons as the result of investigations on 4th Avenue South at Lafayette Street, the 6700 block of Cabot Drive, the 2600 block of Jefferson Street, and North 1st Street at Oldham Street. Seized were 173 grams of marijuana, 813 grams of cocaine, 506 Lortab pills, two vehicles, and one pistol. The Central Precinct’s continuing steroid investigation has, since February, resulted in the seizure of an additional 12,371 dosage units of anabolic steroids from an apartment.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
