
Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 111 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.
South Precinct detectives charged 21 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Meredith Street, Vine Street, and Wallace Road. Seized were 13 grams of cocaine and 95.35 grams of marijuana.
Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 17 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, 5th, 6th, and 3rd Avenues South, Oak Street, University Court, and Village Green Drive. Seized were three grams of marijuana.
West Precinct detectives charged 27 persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at South Street, 27th Avenue North at Meharry Boulevard, Charlotte Pike at Cabot Drive, 37th Avenue North at Charlotte Pike, and the 1000 block of Herman Street. Seized were four pounds of marijuana, 37 grams of cocaine, and $418 cash.
North Precinct detectives charged 19 persons as the result of investigations on Clarksville Pike, Westchester Drive, Brick Church Lane, Wallace Road, Moorewood Drive, Buchanan Street, Ewing Drive, Dickerson Pike, and Buena Vista Pike. Seized were 94.7 grams of cocaine, 122.2 grams of marijuana, two vehicles, one weapon, and $309 cash.
East Precinct detectives charged eleven persons as the result of investigations on 27th Avenue North, Gallatin Avenue at Chester Avenue, and Broadmoor Drive at Ellington Parkway. Seized were .7 grams of cocaine, 162 Lortab pills, and 59 Metoformin pills.
Central Precinct detectives charged 16 persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street, Rosa Parks Boulevard, 6th Avenue South at Lafayette Street, and Ewing Avenue at Fogg Street. The Central Precinct’s continuing steroid investigation, in conjunction with Federal authorities, has resulted in the seizure of 28,000 dosage units of anabolic steroids and 26,000 various pills.
Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
