Undercover detectives, assigned to each of the department’s six precincts, charged 119 persons this week with mostly drug and prostitution offenses as the result of investigations in various Nashville neighborhoods.

South Precinct detectives charged 20 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, Bell Road, Brentridge Drive, and Wallace Road. Seized were 36.3 grams of cocaine, one pound of marijuana, 25 various pills, and $912 cash.

Hermitage Precinct detectives charged 13 persons as the result of investigations on Murfreesboro Pike, 6th Avenue South, Stewarts Ferry Pike, Colonial Circle, and Terry Lane. Seized were five grams of cocaine, eight grams of marijuana, and 20 various pills.

West Precinct detectives charged 32 persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at South Street, 12th Avenue South at Wedgewood Avenue, 27th Avenue North at Meharry Boulevard, Horton Street, Post Road at White Bridge Road, the 7000 block of Cabot Drive, and 37th Avenue North at Charlotte Pike. Seized were seven pounds of marijuana, 37 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of mushrooms, 53 Lortab pills, five weapons, one vehicle, and $3,638 cash.

North Precinct detectives charged 29 persons as the result of investigations on Neelys Bend Road, Buena Vista Pike, Bell Road, Meadow Court, Moormans Arm Road, Whites Creek Pike, and Trinity Lane. Seized were 129.9 grams of cocaine, 374.2 grams of marijuana, 57 Ecstasy pills, ten various pills, two weapons, two vehicles, and $2,618 cash.

East Precinct detectives charged 14 persons as the result of investigations on Lischey Avenue at Douglas Avenue, the 300 block of Trinity Lane, Dickerson Pike, the 3200 block of Masonwood Drive, Grace Street, and North 1st Street at Oldham Street. Seized were 21.4 grams of cocaine and $721 cash.

Central Precinct detectives charged eleven persons as the result of investigations on 8th Avenue South at Drexel Street, 6th Avenue South at Lafayette Street, 1 Titans Way, and Ewing Avenue at Oak Street. The Central Precinct’s continuing steroid investigation, in conjunction with Federal authorities, resulted in the seizure of 4,990 steroid pills.

Persons suspecting drug activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the police department’s 244-DOPE hotline. Callers to the hotline can remain anonymous.
