Metro Police Receive Tennessee Lifesavers Award
The Metropolitan Police Department was honored with a Tennessee Lifesavers Award on August 26 for its work in improving traffic safety across the 533 square miles that make up Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County. The Department was recognized for its efforts to identify and cite aggressive drivers (those who Chief Ronal Serpas says "make your heart skip a beat") and for using the department's helicopters to assist ground units in identifying and citing speeders, particularly those in construction zones.
