South Precinct Seeks to Partner with Clergy
South Precinct Commander Mike Alexander on February 12 met with nearly 40 ministers representing a variety of churches in an effort to build long-term partnerships to enhance the safety of the community.
As a result of the meeting, South Precinct officers are expected to become more involved with church outreach programs, particularly those designed to serve at-risk youth.
“The police department and the clergy share the same critical goal of helping young people make the right decisions in life,” Commander Alexander said. “I really believe police-church partnerships can make a very positive difference in a number of South Nashville neighborhoods.”
Commander Mike Alexander and area ministers discuss how the police department and churches can work together more closely.
